About 4.500 researchers work in the Belarusian university research system

University research in Belarus is represented by 34 accredited organizations, including 21 universities and several research organizations. Approximately 4.500 employees are engaged in research within the system, over 1.500 of whom hold academic degrees. All universities have developed research strategies with 23 benchmarks: human resource potential, participation in research programs, commercialization, publication activity, international collaboration, and development of facilities and equipment.
