A meeting on the training of doctors was held at the Palace of Independence. It touched upon not only postgraduate practice and how to properly organize it, but the healthcare system as a whole. The participants of the meeting were heads of large scientific and practical centers, hospitals and polyclinics, rectors of medical universities. "Everyone is interested in new personnel and their training during the sanctions period", the President said. "Everything is under control for now. But are changes needed now? The current level of internship is considered insufficient by experts. Residency, i.e. training under the guidance of established specialists, is what the Ministry of Health proposes. It will take from one to five years". The President drew attention to the need to consider innovations in the healthcare system and borrow from foreign experience. "Not only European, medicine in the East is developing by leaps and bounds now. The Indian pharmacological market, Chinese traditional and non-traditional methods can all be included in the training process for specialists who want to be the best. It is necessary to invest money in this, spend it wisely on infrastructure, and use the savings to increase the salaries of doctors. The main thing is personnel", the President said.
