The effectiveness of the forestry industry was discussed with the President. The use of raw materials, diversification of markets, export, and availability of lumber for the population were the topics on the agenda. For 7 months of 2023, more than 10 million cubic meters of wood were harvested (80% compared to the same period last year). Capacities allow increasing the volumes. Despite the sanctions, Belarus managed to reorient deliveries, maintain volumes, and earn even more. At the moment, the needs of woodworking enterprises of various forms of ownership are completely covered. And thanks to the close cooperation of the Forestry Ministry with domestic producers, forestry receives the entire line of necessary equipment. Today, Belarusians have the opportunity to purchase wood in the amount of up to 70 cubic meters at affordable prices for various purposes. The decree of the President has optimized the implementation mechanism. In H1 2023 alone, 2.5 thousand citizens took advantage of this.
