The week at the Palace of Independence started with a business talk with the business community. The President held a meeting with representatives of private enterprises. Business representatives, government officials, parliamentarians, and chairmen of regional executive committees were invited to the meeting. The President called the development of a comfortable business environment in Belarus one of the priorities of the state economic policy. Private business occupies a considerable share of the Belarusian economy. This sector forms half of the GDP, provides 37% of industrial production, and accounts for a third of all investments. The state is not going to erect artificial barriers for private business, said Aleksandr Lukashenko. Special attention will be paid to business in the regions. It is important to give equal opportunities to entrepreneurs of any form of ownership to scale up, expand production, increase investments and create jobs with good salaries and working conditions. The President emphasized that Belarus is equally interested in private and public sectors, as well as foreign enterprises working for the benefit of people and the country.
