The expediency of creating a system of military prosecutors in Belarus and their closer interaction with law enforcement agencies. This was discussed today at the Palace of Independence. A. Lukashenko received Prosecutor General A. Shved with a report. The position of the President is unequivocal – in Belarus it is necessary to strengthen control over the observance of the law among the military. Instructions were given to increase the measures of prosecutorial supervision. The department has already prepared a number of proposals. One of them concerns the creation of the Chief Military Prosecutor's Office. The decision will be made based on the results of an additional meeting with the Head of State. The President was also informed about the criminal situation in the country: the trends are positive. 1,000 fewer crimes were registered than in the same period last year. Now Belarus has the lowest crime rate in the last five years. A. Shved also told how the investigation of the criminal case on the genocide is going on. This work continues: the clarification of the circumstances of the destruction of the Belarusian people, the identification of persons involved in such crimes, and their criminal prosecution is underway.
