President receives report of Belarus Interior Minister Igor Shunevich

Belarus President met with Interior Minister Igor Shunevich to receive his report. The head of state asked about the operation of law enforcement bodies in 2018, the Interior Ministry optimization, as well as the investigation of criminal cases which are under his control. Alexander Lukashenko noted the need for tougher punishment for violations of traffic rules and touched upon personnel issues. Last year the number of registered crimes fell by almost 3%. The law enforcement bodies successfully counteract illegal drug trafficking, corruption and economic crimes.
