Message from Belarus President to the UN Secretary General

On security, conflict in Ukraine, and the role of the UN. The President of Belarus sent a message to the Secretary General of the United Nations. António Guterres was given the message by the representative of our country to the UN, Valentin Rybakov. The message emphasizes that Belarus is sincerely interested in a speedy settlement of the situation in Ukraine. Our country, as a neighbor, is concerned about the future of regional security and guarantees of national security. It is impossible to resolve these issues without the participation of Minsk, as well as without the participation of the countries of the region. Minsk emphasizes the enduring value of a peaceful foreign policy. The head of the Belarusian state proposed taking specific measures to immediately end the conflict and prevent it from escalating into a global war. First of all, we should refrain from the supply of weapons, information wars and various provocations. The President of Belarus called on the Secretary General of the United Nations to start negotiations with all parties involved in the conflict, including the United States and Western countries. In his message, Alexander Lukashenko assured António Guterres that Belarus is ready for any steps aimed at ensuring peace for future generations.
