The development of chess in Belarus, as well as the 45th World Chess Olympiad were discussed the day before at the highest level. President Alexander Lukashenko met with Arkady Dvorkovich, head of the International Chess Federation. The forum will be held in August 2022. FIDE plans to restructure its work to effectively develop chess sports. In turn, Alexander Lukashenko noted the importance of developing a wide variety of sports in our country, and also congratulated Arkady Dvorkovich on his recent election to a high position. The Olympiad in Minsk will be preceded by the World Chess Cup among women in 2020, and the World Cup among men in 2021.
