The epidemiological situation, the domestic COVID-19 vaccine, and other important issues of the healthcare system were discussed by Belarus President and the Minister of Health. Dmitry Pinevich said: the epidemiological situation is under control. The number of cases of COVID-19 in the country is less than 3%. Now experts expect a tridemic, i.e. the season when the flu virus, respiratory diseases, and coronavirus cross over. The healthcare system is fully prepared to counter it. 72% of the population has been vaccinated against COVID-19. 39% of Belarusians have also been vaccinated against influenza. All preventive measures have been taken. The meeting also discussed issues of import substitution, the provision of necessary medicines and equipment, as well as the production of Belarusian COVID-19 vaccine. Another issue the government is to take under special control is the provision of medical equipment and the development of the material and technical base of medical institutions. As for personnel, a lot of work has been done in terms of targeted training. 60% of medical school graduates have been encompassed by it. The Healthcare Ministry plans to stick to this strategy in the future.
