Belarus pays much attention to the cooperation with Georgia and is going to do its best to promote this cooperation across the board, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with Ambassador of Georgia to Belarus Valeri Kvaratskhelia. The head of state emphasized that after the presidential election in Georgia it is important to synchronize watches for the development of the Belarusian-Georgian interaction. In March 2018, the Belarusian head of state paid an official visit to Georgia. During the visit the sides signed a cooperation agreement. In 2017, the Belarusian-Georgian trade made up $93.5 million, 26% over 2016. In January-September 2018, the trade turnover reached $62 million.
