A.Lukashenko meets with Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus

Interfaith dialogue, the situation in society and the participation of the church in social processes were discussed at the Palace of Independence. The President met with the Head of the Belarusian Orthodox Church, and with Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natalia Kochanova. Representatives of 25 religious confessions live peacefully in Belarus today. Tolerance and mutual respect of people of different religious views, as well as freedom of religion, are the invariable priority of state policy. In developing dialogue and addressing significant social issues the Belarusian Orthodox Church actively interacts with other religious denominations.
