A.Lukashenko approves plan for use of Union State's regional grouping of troops

Aleksandr Lukashenko met with Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Alexander Volfovich. The head of state was presented with proposals on revising the plan for the use of the regional grouping of forces of Belarus and Russia. The President approved the presented plan. The regional grouping of the Union State is envisaged to protect the borders in the western direction, it is based on the armed forces of Belarus. In Russia, forces and means have also been amassed that, in the event of a conflict or military action, are to act together to protect the two states. The strategic document will be considered at a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State.
