The most urgent task in the cooperation between Belarus and China lies in the development of economic interaction. The President emphasized this at his meeting with the Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China. Li Qiang is on an official visit to Belarus. Aleksandr Lukashenko warmly welcomed the distinguished guest at the Palace of Independence. The Belarusian leader said: "We attach great importance to this visit". The head of state believes that it can be historic. Despite the great geographical distance, today our countries are united not only in their assessments of the past, but also in their views on the current political situation and the future world order. Belarus and China have established the highest level of relations in history — an all-weather and all-round strategic partnership. Now, according to the President, it is important to raise economic and investment cooperation to the level of political cooperation. During Li Qiang's visit to Belarus, documents will be signed that will consolidate the plans for prospective partnership in key areas. Last year Minsk and Beijing traded $8.5 billion. And this is just the beginning: 15 new investment projects worth $3 billion are under active development with Chinese partners.
