St. Petersburg has become a venue for discussions on the intensification of Belarusian-Russian cooperation. The Belarusian Food Forum starts today. The program also includes the Business Cooperation Council and the transfer of MAZ, MTZ and Amkodor equipment to Russia’s northern capital. Among the Russian regions, St. Petersburg ranks fourth in terms of trade with Belarus. Last year it exceeded one and a half billion dollars. For comparison, this is higher than the trade turnover with a number of European countries. St. Petersburg is interested in the supply of Belarusian products, equipment, as well as in joint housing construction projects.
