Rapeseed oil worth $3.5 million was sold at export exchange trading at BUCE

More than 2.3 thousand tons of rapeseed oil worth $3.5 million were sold based on the results of export exchange trading held at the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange. The buyers were companies from Lithuania, Poland and Estonia. A total of 6 transactions were made, including one for the amount of $1.6 million, which became one of the largest in the current year for this type of product. As BUCE explained, the interest of European companies in Belarusian rapeseed oil is largely due to the growing popularity of biodiesel fuel, which has become especially in demand against the background of the rapidly growing oil prices.
