Over 32,000 hectares of forest to be planted this year

Over 32,000 hectares of forest crops are planned to be planted this year. Forestries have already begun planting trees. The warm weather affected the early start of the forestry season. Particular emphasis is placed on the restoration of areas with dead and burnt wood. The creation of mixed forest cultures increases the future forests' resilience to various biological and climatic factors. Belarus is one of the ten most forested countries in Europe. Forests occupy about 40% of the area. Last year alone, almost 44,000 hectares of new forests were planted in Belarus.
