Global warming, temperature records and decreasing rainfall. Such vagaries of the weather are a real test for agriculture. But even here, Belarusian scientists and farmers find advantages: climate change has made it possible to grow sweet corn, asparagus, and eggplant in the country. Exotic farming is also gaining popularity: grapes and melons are grown. Walnut crops are also a contribution to the Belarusian economy. More than 600 hectares have been allocated for hazelnuts and walnuts. Gardens are laid in the Brest, Grodno and Minsk regions. Taking into account changes in climatic conditions and developing new areas in agriculture is a task for farmers and scientists in the program of social and economic development of Belarus for the five-year period. The emphasis is on heat-loving and drought-resistant crops. Also, the annual laying of garden plantings on an area of about 500 hectares is planned.
