Agricultural companies of Belarus are getting ready for harvesting. And scientists offer new varieties of high-yielding crops. Some of them are ready to replace imported ones. The R&D Center for Agriculture at the Academy of Sciences of Belarus focuses on legumes, among other things. They are rich in protein and health-boosting amino acids. For example, lupine can become an alternative to soy. In addition, scientists offer new varieties of such valuable crops as wheat and triticale. In total, the specialists of the R&D Center from Zhodino are doing selection research on 38 types of agricultural plants.
