MPs approve 2020 draft national budget in first reading

Substantial financial support to the regions. The amount that will be transferred to local budgets from the national budget will increase by almost a third. Such approaches are stipulated by the draft budget for 2020. It was approved by the House of Representatives in the first reading. Public sector employees' salaries are to be kept at 80% of the national average. Pension indexation is planned to take place once per quarter. Medicine and education will get additional financing. The second reading of the 2020 budget is expected to take place in the Oval Hall next week. After that, it is going to be considered in the Council of the Republic, the upper chamber of the parliament.
