The Minsk Region is the republican leader in the use of renewable energy sources, boilers and furnaces. About a quarter of all heat and electricity in the region is generated using local fuels. The transition from imported natural gas to local wood chips is part of the state program on energy saving. The production and use of wood pellets is another promising area. They are already being produced in the Stolbtsy District. A similar production will be launched next year in Borisov.
