Minsk region farmers harvest grapes

Despite adverse weather conditions, farmers of the Central region plan to harvest a good harvest of grapes. The Institute of Fruit Growing of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus grows more than five hundred grape varieties. Some of them allow for a scientific breakthrough. A domestic hybrid fund has been created on the basis of foreign varieties. The main tasks of scientists are to reduce imports and increase exports of domestic grapes. The plans include the creation of new technical varieties of grapes for processing.
