Mass harvesting of vegetables being carried out in the Vitebsk region

In the north of the country, a massive harvesting of vegetables in open ground is carried out. A quarter of the areas occupied by beets, carrots, onions, and cabbage have already been covered. The productivity is about 300 centners per hectare. Compared to last year, farmers lack near 140 centners due to the dry summer. The largest vegetable plantations are located in the Polotsk, Orsha and Vitebsk districts. Students and pupils help in harvesting root crops. Farms specializing in greenhouse crops are also actively involved in the procurement of vitamin products. This season, Rudakovo vegetable growers received sixty kilograms of tomatoes per square meter.
