Forestry enterprises earn over 300 million rubles through export

More than 300 million rubles have been earned by the Belarusian forestry enterprises since the beginning of the year through the export of timber products. Traditionally, the highest demand is for sawn timber, which accounts for more than 66 percent of exports. Sawmilling wastes are also in demand in foreign markets: wood chips, technological raw materials and pellets. The foresters make active use of domestically-produced equipment. A specialized tractor allows cultivating from 3 to 5 hectares of land per day, while by hand it is only 25 ares. Primary attention is paid to the preservation of the forest resources.
