Agricultural organizations in Belarus are intensifying one of the important stages of summer field work, the preparation of grass fodder. The Minsk region plans to bring in 627,000 tons of feed units in the first mowing, which is a third of the season’s total volume. More than 900 mowers and over 700 forage harvesters are used in the fields of the central region. A mixture of protein-rich herbs is harvested on one of the fields in the Logoisk region. Such haylage will benefit milk production at a local enterprise, which has more than a thousand heads of dairy cows. According to one of the technologies, grass fodder is laid in haylage and silo trenches by farmers. Special preservatives are also added, thanks to which the feed will remain fresh and retain its high quality for a long time.
