Belarus introduces ban on rail transit from Lithuania

This was done in response to the actions of official Vilnius to stop the transit of Belarusian potash fertilizers and their transshipment through the ports of Klaipeda. Belarus informs all those concerned four days before this decision's entry into force. This convention ban at the initiative of the Belarusian side will be announced by the Directorate of the Council for Railway Transport of the CIS Member States and will enter into force on February 7, 2022. As emphasized by the Foreign Ministry, the Belarusian side is still open to dialogue with the official Vilnius to resolve all issues in a lawful manner in the interests of ordinary people in both countries.
