Karelia expects to become a center for the production of logging equipment. This task will be solved by the joint Russian-Belarusian production of cars. A few years ago, a subsidiary of the Belarusian holding Amkodor was launched in the capital of Karelia. Today, it is increasing its capacity, as well as the localization of production. Equipment comes to replace imported cars. The production of own analogues of the most important components and assemblies for logging is growing. The joint project is important not only for the economy of Karelia, but for the whole of Russia. Minsk and Petrozavodsk are strengthening ties. For Karelia, Belarus is the first trading partner among the CIS countries and the third in the world. The machine-building line makes up a significant share of Belarusian exports to Karelia.
