About 2 million tons of peat produced in Belarus annually

About 2 million tons of peat are produced in Belarus annually. It yields 1.2 million tons of peat products, about 20% is exported. About 80% of peat products are sold domestically, which makes it possible to replace more than 450 million cubic meters of natural gas annually. The main production assets of peat enterprises are being modernized using up-to-date equipment and technologies, new methods of developing peat fields are being introduced. Over the past 12 years, more than Br320 million have been allocated for the development of the peat industry in Belarus.
