A new flax variety "Accent" has appeared in Belarus

Late-ripening flax is included in the State Register. The new variety was created at the "Flax Institute". The flax harvest potential is 99 t/ha. The stems mature evenly, the fiber is easily separated from the woody part. The characteristics of the new variety include disease resistance, high yield, and premium fiber quality. With a stem height of over a meter, the "Accent" does not turn into brittle straw, even in extreme heat. The thread turns out to be thin, smooth and heavy-duty, which is ideal for the production of high-end fabrics. Next year, farmers intend to expand the acreage for a new crop. The Belarusian development has successfully reached the international level: the variety is being tested in the fields of Russia.
