This year, 17 new domestic varieties of agricultural crops will be tested in fields across Belarus. They were developed by specialists from the Agriculture Research and Development Center of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus for. Every year, researchers from Zhodino produce more than 1.5 thousand tons of original and elite seeds. These days, elite-producing farms from all over the country turn to the Center for pre-treated and ready-to-sow material. As agricultural scientists note, every year the volume of spring sowing is reduced in favor of autumn sowing. Today the ratio is 40% spring and 60% winter crops. The varieties sown in the fall are more resistant to drought and have higher yields.
