A photo exhibition from the "Island-town of Sviyazhsk" museum-reserve in Tatarstan was presented in Mogilev

The "Island-town of Sviyazhsk" museum-reserve in Tatarstan is visited by up to 2 million tourists annually. Belarusians can now take part in a photo tour of this unique site. An exhibition of photographs from the museum-reserve, "Volga Landscapes. Sviyazhsk: Present and Past," has opened in Mogilev. The Sviyaga is a river that flows into the Volga. The fortified town of Sviyazhsk near Kazan was built during the reign of Ivan the Terrible. Today, the island-town is a museum and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ancient architecture with unique XVI century frescoes has been preserved here. A photo exhibition features picturesque views of the Volga and Sviyaga rivers. The exhibition marked the beginning of cultural cooperation between Mogilev and Tatarstan.
