The letter of support to BSJ was personally sent by the Secretary General of the WJF, Chairman of the Association of Journalists of Pakistan, Abid Chaudry.

The WJF makes this urgent statement with a resolute defense of press freedom and the universal right to information following the unjustified removal of the accounts of three major Belarusian media outlets — ONT and STV TV channels and BelTA News Agency — from the YouTube platform.

The WJF sees this coordinated blocking not as a technical enforcement of YouTube's policies, but as a blatant act of digital censorship and a direct escalation of the information war.

By silencing these prominent voices, digital platforms go beyond their role as service providers and act as global gatekeepers of freedom of speech, fundamentally violating the principles of media pluralism.

The right to receive and disseminate information is a cornerstone of international law. When large technology companies unilaterally dismantle the digital infrastructure of established news organizations, they are not just deleting channels, they are removing the public's right to choose their sources of information," the WJF Executive Committee said.
