XXXI Minsk International Film Festival "Listapad" started at the Palace of the Republic

The film festival starts simultaneously in all participating cities. It will be opened by the sports drama of the Belarusian director "The Turning Point". Dmitry Soroka's film tells the story of a young rower who breaks his leg and is left behind by the school team. An entirely Belarusian team, which is a mix of young blood and professionals, worked on the film.

Eight competitive programs will be held as part of the film festival. Among them are contests for feature, non-fiction, animated films, films for children and youth audiences "Listapadzik", "Cinema of the Young", a competition of national film schools and a national competition. In addition, this year, at the suggestion of the Belarusian Union of Cinematographers and the Cinematographic Community, a short film competition was added.

The jury of the film festival included famous figures and leading experts in the field of international cinema. Karen Shakhnazarov, Russian director General of the Mosfilm film concern, became the chairman of the feature film jury.

Master classes and creative meetings with renowned producers, directors and actors from Belarus, Russia, India, Vietnam, China, Türkiye and Italy will also take place during the forum.

Days of Russian, Italian, Brazilian, Pakistani, Uzbek, and Kazakh cinema will be held as part of the non-competitive program. An open day will be held at the Belarusfilm National Film Studio.
