The town of Postavy is located 190 kilometers north of Minsk. The first mention dates back to 1409. About 20 thousand people live there now. The richness of history and unusual architectural monuments attract both Belarusians and tourists to the town.

The Tizengauz Palace, which now houses the district clinic, is the city's landmark. The palace was built at the end of the 19th century. The internal layout was badly damaged, but the external shape of the building has been preserved. There is a longstanding park with the original layout elements, channels and linden alleys nearby. There is a monument to the famous Belarusian scientist Konstantin Tizengauz, who built the palace.

Another attraction of the city is the church of St. Anthony of Padua. It is one of the most beautiful in our country. The temple was built in the early 20th century. The pseudo-Gothic architecture of the church is perfectly combined with the green landscape and the river. It is impossible not to mention the Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas, built at the end of the XIX century.

The historical buildings of the city center are of great interest to tourists. The preserved buildings of the 18th and 19th centuries - the "Craftsman's House", "Doctor's House" and other buildings located in the central square - were built according to the designs of the architect Giuseppe di Sacco, who was invited from Italy. Visitors do not overlook the 19th-century watermill, which can be found just outside the city center by the bridge over the river.

You can get to know the history of the region and the life of the famous family in the local history museum of the city.

Every year the festival of folk music "Zvinyats tsymbaly i harmonik" is held in Postavy. Folklore and recreation lovers from all over the country happily come to it.

I have to admit that I am sad to leave Postavy. Something attracts me to this quiet and unusually beautiful town. Is it history? The architecture? The people?

Konstantin Tizengauz's contemporary, writer and memoirist Gabriella Puzynina once said this about Postavy: "If I were asked where happiness is on earth, I would answer that it is in Postavy..."
