Victoria Azarenka elected to Players’ Council of Women's Tennis Association

Victoria Azarenka has been elected to the Players’ Council of the Women's Tennis Association, the WTA press service reports. New representatives of the body were selected by the voting of the athletes themselves. Representing the WTA top 20 in the Council, besides the Belarusian athlete, are Williams sisters, Johanna Konta, and Samantha Stosur. Azarenka, Serena Williams and Stosur got into the top 20 thanks to the «protected rating». The interests of the tennis players in the top 50 will be advocated by Lucia Shafarova, and top 100 – by Julia Boserap.
