Bishkek hosts Eurasian Intergovernmental Council summit

A summit of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council took place today in Bishkek. Starting with the meeting of the heads of delegations with the President of Kyrgyzstan, the forum continued with a discussion of issues related to mutual trade of the last two years and economic sectors with integration potential. As the Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov noted, a lot has been done within the union, but there has been no real breakthroughs so far. As a result of the meeting, a number of documents were signed to advance cooperation in the integration association, work has started on setting up a free trade zone between the EEU and Iran. The next meeting of the intergovernmental council will be held in Kazan.
