Belarus’ biathlete Nadezhda Skardino wins gold medal in Ostersund, Sweden

Nadezhda Skardino of Belarus shot clean to claim her first-ever victory in the women’s 15K individual at BMW IBU World Cup 1 in Ostersund, Sweden on 29 November. The Belarusian’s winning time of 42:57.4 put her 2.9 seconds ahead Norway’s Synnove Solemdal and 12 seconds ahead of Ukraine’s Juliya Dzhyma. All three women on the podium shot clean. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko congratulated Nadezhda Scardino upon the victory in a few minutes after the finish.
