Team Belarus’ medal count at 72 awards

The year’s central athletic event, the 2nd CIS Games, continues to please both fans and athletes. As of morning on August 8 Belarus had 72 awards, 16 of them gold medals. This is the second place in the overall medal standings. Russia is in the lead with 104 medals, 51 of them gold. Team Uzbekistan rounds out the top three, followed by Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Today the competitions will continue across five cities and nine sports, with medals events to be held in three of them. The largest number of medals, namely 10 sets, is to be competed for in track and field events in Minsk.
