Sabalenko secures career's first Grand Slam win

Aryna Sabalenko takes the first Grand Slam tournament title of her career. The duet of the first racket of Belarus and Belgian Elise Mertens won the US Open doubles. Sabalenko and Mertens have now three doubles titles. The first two trophies were won in March this year at tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami. But, of course, the victory at the US Open stands apart on this list. The winners, in addition to the title, received $740 thousand in prize money, Victoria Azarenka and Ashley Barty will split half as much.
