NOC of Belarus reacts to IOC's decision on admission of Belarusian athletes
17.06.2024
Misunderstanding and indignation. Such was the reaction of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus caused by the new decision of the IOC on the admission of Belarusian athletes to the Olympic Games. On June 15, the IOC published a list of Belarusians who have already received permission to perform in Paris. There are only 11 athletes, despite the fact that Belarusian team has about 30 licenses for the Olympics. Currently, only six wrestlers, one road cyclist, two trampolinists and two weightlifters have qualifications. The list is not final and will be supplemented. In turn, the National Olympic Committee notes that the decision on participation in the Olympics will be made by the sport federations and the athletes themselves.
