Minsk hosts international freestyle wrestling tournament in memory of A. Medved

The Grand Prix Freestyle Wrestling in memory of three-time Olympic champion Aleksandr Medved is hosted by the Chizhovka Arena in the capital. The prestigious tournament gathered athletes from 11 countries. Among the participants, in addition to the hosts, are teams from Russia, Kazakhstan, Türkey, Moldova and others. The International Freestyle Wrestling Tournament was first organised in Minsk in 1970, and for more than half a century the competition was held for the prizes of Aleksandr Medved, who passed away in September 2024.
