Famous Belarusian hammer thrower Ivan Tikhon has been elected chairperson of the Belarusian light athletics federation. The decision was taken after the federation's special conference. The delegates supported the candidature of the two-time Olympic medalist by a majority of votes. Before, the position had been occupied by Vadim Devyatovsky, formerly a prominent sports figure, too.
