Homecoming with medals
Belarusian weightlifters won 8 medals at the Grand Prix in Havana. The participants of the competition were met at the Minsk National Airport. All the tasks set have been completed, this is how the coaching staff assessed the performance of our team upon their return to Belarus. The Belarusian team showed good results. Of the 13 athletes, 8 won awards, 4 of them won gold, i.e. P. Asayonok, P. Khodasevich, E. Tikhontsov, and D. Moiseevich. Other awards include a silver and 2 bronze. Now the Belarusian athletes will concentrate on the preparations for the II Games of the CIS countries, where they will perform as the main team, and in September they will continue to compete for Olympic licenses at the World Championships in Saudi Arabia. According to the results of five tournaments, ten strongest athletes in each weight category will receive a coveted ticket to the Paris Olympics.
