Grodno hosted an International Tournament in Artistic Gymnastics
15 teams from Belarus and Russia took part in the open National Competitions in Artistic Gymnastics "Olympic Hopes" dedicated to the memory of Honored Coach of the USSR Renald Knysh. It is symbolic that the competition became a place of unity between the two nations. In this tournament the organizers put the idea of preserving the memory, not only of the famous coach, but also of the Great Victory. The famous former coach brought up two Olympic champions — Elena Volchetskaya and Olga Korbut, who brought five Olympic gold medals to the country. Thanks to him, the history of artistic gymnastics began in Belarus and a revolution in the world sport took place. In memory of Renald Knysh, the tournament named after him is held in Grodno for the fifth year in a row.
