Europe v USA athletics match kicks off in Minsk

Large-scale sporting events, such as the Europe v USA athletics match, can positively influence the political situation in the world. This was stated by the President of Belarus the day before at the opening ceremony of the competitions at the Dinamo Stadium in Minsk. This is the first such competitions in history. Many of the athletes see it as a good opportunity to prepare for the World Cup. Before the start of the match, Aleksandr Lukashenko met with the heads of the international and European athletics associations. After the negotiations, it was announced that a regional center for athletics could appear in Belarus. By the way, after the first day of competitions Europe is 16 points ahead of the US. Today is the decisive day of the match, with 19 events to be held.
