The competition was held in Moldova. Belarusian Yauheni Tsikhantsou became the absolute champion of Europe in weightlifting in the weight category up to 102 kg. The strongman took two small golds — in snatch and clean and jerk, and got the highest award in the sum of the two-weight class. The result was 399 kg. Now the native of Gomel has become a three-time champion of the continent. Earlier, Suzanna Volodko in the 71 kg category climbed to the third step of the podium. She also took silver in the clean and jerk exercise. Diana Moiseyevich (64 kg) and Andrey Frolov in the 81 kg category each took bronze in the snatch from Chisinau.
