The match against one of the strongest teams in the world, Italy, took place in Catania, Sicily. The final score on the scoreboard — 2:2. The next match in the qualification of Euro-2026 Belarusians will be held on a neutral ground in Italy on 4 February against Malta, which was defeated by the Finns 0:5 in its first match. According to the results of the group stage, the winners of all 10 quartets will go directly to the European Championship. The top eight teams, who finish second in their groups, will play for four more berths. The knockout rounds will take place in September.
