Anniversary of the Republican Alpine Skiing Centre "Silichi"

It was exactly 20 years ago that the President of Belarus personally opened this unique for the country sports facility, which is located 30 kilometres away from Minsk. In the late 90s it was impossible to imagine that Belarus would have such a centre for lovers of active winter recreation without having to go to the mountains. On the instructions of Aleksandr Lukashenko, the sports centre was built and on the day of its opening the head of state personally tested the track. It is also important that all kinds of winter sports are represented in Silichi: an indoor skating rink (suitable for hockey players and figure skaters), there is tubing, children's skiing and sledge tracks, and, of course, the main slope for professionals.
