The queue of passenger cars at the border with Poland has increased sixfold
03.11.2025
The reason is Lithuania's closure of the border with Belarus until 1 December. A week ago an average of 300-400 cars were expected to enter the EU through Brest, but today this figure has increased to 2.500. Trucks that traveled to the European Union through the Belarusian-Lithuanian border also reoriented to Polish and Latvian destinations, where queues increased in the first few days after the closure of the Lithuanian one. After the Belarusian side retaliated against Lithuanian trucks traveling only through the Belarusian-Lithuanian section of the border, the number of cars waiting to leave for Poland and Latvia returned to stable levels. Currently more than 2.000 trucks are queuing at the Kozlovichi checkpoint on the Polish route and 520 from Grigorovshchina on the Latvian route.
