Festive events dedicated to the the Day of Fatherland Defenders and Belarusian Armed Forces are taking place in Belarus. This holiday symbolizes patriotism and loyalty to military duty. 23 February is rightfully considered a national holiday in the republic, a day of remembrance of the courage and heroism of all generations of defenders of the Fatherland, who defended the freedom and independence of their native land. "The real strength lies in our people," Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin proudly noted during a solemn meeting on the eve of the holiday.
