11.02.2026
They explore, discover and shape the future of science. The Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus presented a portrait of a Belarusian woman scientist. Their share in the country's scientific sector is about 39%, which is higher than the global average. More than half of the students in master's, postgraduate and doctoral studies are also representatives of the fair sex. Among holders of academic degrees, one in three is a candidate of sciences, and one in five is a doctor. Most often, female scientists choose medical sciences, less often technical sciences. Sociologists note that women come to science out of an interest in research and a desire to contribute to the field and benefit their country.
